I work with individuals, businesses, organisations and publications to make portraits that feel natural rather than overly posed — from a single environmental portrait to a wider series about the people behind an organisation or community.
Stories & businesses
Good businesses are full of people, details and stories.
I can spend time with you or your team photographing what you actually do: the people, the work, the environment and the small details that make it yours.
The photographs can work across websites, editorial, social media and press, while still feeling specific to the people and place they came from.
Events
I photograph events with an emphasis on people and atmosphere rather than endless line-ups and posed groups.
That might mean a community event, launch, festival, business gathering or something less easily categorised. I look for the interactions, expressions and quieter moments that give an event its character, while still making sure the important parts are covered.
Live performance
I photograph musicians and performers with the same approach: looking for expression, gesture and personality as much as the performance itself.
Editorial & published work
I'm available for editorial assignments, features and local stories, including portraits, events and documentary coverage.
My photographs have run regularly in the Bishop's Stortford Independent including; front-page coverage of VE Day 80, the town's Indies Community Awards, and Avanti Grange's Outstanding Ofsted result, alongside sport, live music and community events.
What it’s like to work with me
I don’t arrive with a complicated production or try to turn everyone into a model.
I’ll talk through what you need beforehand, work quietly when that suits the situation, offer direction when it helps, and concentrate on making photographs that feel believable and specific to you.
If you’re not particularly comfortable in front of a camera, that’s fine too.
What you’ll come away with
A considered set of edited, high-resolution photographs, together with web-ready files where required. Depending on the assignment, that might include portraits, working photographs, details, wider views and candid moments. Enough variety to tell the story properly rather than simply provide one hero image.
